For even more utility and enjoyment, obtain a software program that will
not only play the .mid file but also show the musical notation,
or score, for the tune, including back-up and harmony parts, if included in
the composition.
These programs will enable you to transpose to a different key and to
speed up or slow down the tempo - without changing the musical pitch!
Some programs allow you to set up a repeat loop for practice.
NOTE: I have no vested interest or
