For even more utility and enjoyment, obtain a software program that will not only play the .mid
file but also show the musical notation, or score, for the tune, including
back-up and harmony parts, if included in the composition.
Some programs will enable you to transpose to a different key and to speed up or slow down the tempo - without changing the musical pitch! Some programs allow you to set up a repeat loop for practice.

These programs are for the more experienced musician who wants to compose and edit digital musical files.
This is a limited listing of what is available to give you an idea of some programs to examine.
I have not tried all of the programs, but they all have some powerful capabilities.
